Gunmen Kill 15 Farmers, Burn Houses In Nasarawa

No fewer than fifteen Agatu farmers were killed by unidentified gunmen in Udeni Ruwa district, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nararawa state, while five others drowned.
It was learnt that the suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded two settlements in Udeni Ruwa district of
the state on Sunday night, setting houses on fire.
But, the Police Public Relation Officer, Nasarawa state command, ASP Ismaila Numan Umaru, who confirmed the incident to The PUNCH in a telephone interview in Lafia, the state capital, said seven people were killed and many houses were burned during the attack.
According to him, the attack on Agatu farmers was a reprisal attack by the Fulani herdsmen following a report that three of their men got missing in the area when they took their cows for grazing.
